Living LOUD: Empowering Jamaica’s Youth

A bold new vision calling our youth to live with purpose, power, and conviction.

Introducing Living LOUD

It’s a privilege to present our vision for the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica’s National Youth and Discipleship Department. We’ve developed a new strategic framework to guide our ministry over the next four years, and we’re calling it Living LOUD.

The name LOUD is a powerful acronym that summarizes our call to action:

Liberated

Freedom from the power of sin so our youth can live boldly for Christ.

Outspoken

Proclaiming the Gospel not just through words, but also through actions.

Unction

Relying on the Holy Spirit's anointing to empower our ministry.

Determined

Cultivating unwavering commitment and perseverance in the face of opposition.

Our Vision and Mission

This initiative is our proactive response to the Great Commission. Our goal is to equip the next generation to be a powerful and visible testimony for Christ.

Our Core Values

Our Goals for the Coming Year

For the upcoming year, we're focused on four key goals to bring the Living LOUD vision to life.

Cultivating a Culture of Intentional Discipleship

This year, we’ll focus on the ‘L’ for Liberated. We’re moving from simply hosting events to becoming a purpose-driven discipleship movement. Every activity, from camps to district meetings, will be
intentionally designed to help our youth develop Christ-like character and live out their faith daily, not just on Sundays.

Mobilizing Youth for Evangelism and Social Transformation

We want to put the Outspoken and Determined aspects of Living LOUD into action. It’s not enough for our youth to be discipled; they must be actively engaged in their communities. This goal is about empowering them to be proactive in sharing their faith—both through their words and actions—and addressing societal issues from a biblical perspective. Our young people are called to be a counter-cultural force.

Building a Strong Leadership Pipeline

Any plan for transformation is only as strong as the people who carry it out. This goal is about investing in the next generation of leaders to ensure the Living LOUD vision has a sustainable future. By developing a continuous stream of trained, Spirit-filled, and committed young leaders, we can safeguard the longevity and impact of our department for years to come.

Improving Administrative Accountability

Our final goal is to improve our communication and reporting systems to make our programs more effective. By gathering better data, we’ll be able to see where the needs are greatest and how to meet them more specifically. This feedback will help us make informed decisions and ensure our efforts always achieve maximum impact. We believe that by working together, we can empower a generation that is truly Living LOUD for Christ. We look forward to partnering with you to make this vision a reality.

THE LIBERATED LIFE: LIVING LOUD PROGRAM (YEAR 1: 2025-2026)

INTRODUCTION: A VISION FOR THE LIBERATED GENERATION

The Living LOUD program is an ambitious initiative designed to empower and transform the youth of the New Testament Church of God (NTCOG). As the program embarks on its inaugural year, the strategic theme for 2025-2026 is “Liberated.” This foundational theme is a deliberate and purposeful choice, anchoring the entire year’s ministry in the profound and life-altering truth found in the Apostle Paul’s
exhortation in Romans 12:2: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” This scripture serves as the spiritual blueprint for the program, framing liberation as a comprehensive journey of internal change that leads to external freedom. It is a clarion call to a generation to embrace a life set apart from worldly patterns and rooted in a deep, personal transformation of the mind.

This framework is not merely a theological exercise; it is an urgent and contextually relevant response to the lived realities of Jamaican youth. The data reveals a powerful duality in the lives of many young people on the island. On one hand, there are deeply entrenched challenges that threaten their well-being, including significant health issues like alarming rates of adolescent obesity and under-nutrition, limited access to mental health services, and one of the highest rates of adolescent pregnancy in the English-speaking Caribbean. The pre-pandemic data showing that 60% of those treated for attempted suicide were adolescents and young people highlights an intense internal struggle. These issues point to a pervasive sense of bondage—spiritual, emotional, and social—that weighs heavily on the youth.

Being a digital native in this epoch also lends itself to self-centeredness and isolation which in turn causes apathy for others to spread like a cancer. It is very important to note that it is in these times of isolation that the adversary finds ways of infiltrating the mind and  causing there to be the influence on thought patterns which ultimately lead to addictive and self-harming activities. When youth become hooked on
these acts, drugs, people, and media, there is the propensity of feeling chained and trapped with no hope of ever being truly freed.

The strategic framework recognizes the profound tension between two realities: the outward participation in a false friendship, self-deprecating culture and the inward struggle with personal brokenness and systemic inequities. A program on “liberation” is the holistic, empathetic response that connects spiritual freedom to the tangible realities of their lives. It acknowledges that the internal “renewing of the mind” is not just a theological concept but the primary solution for the mental and emotional chains many youth, and more so, young Christians carry. This approach demonstrates that faith is not separate from their everyday struggles but is the very key to overcoming them.
